TITLE OF IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Technical Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs Radiologic examinations, contributes to the efficient operation of MAIN STREET RADIOLOGY, and promotes its philosophy to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited school or radiology technology.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensed by the State Department of Health.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- If applicable to obtain certification in Mammography within 1 year of being hired
- Current BCLS certification
STANDARDS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Report to work in attire that is professional, neat, clean, and appropriate for the work environment.
- Wear proper identification at all times while on duty.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information at all times
- Report to work on time and meet acceptable standards for attendance.
- Follow the Main Street Radiology Code of Conduct
JOB DUTIES:
- Ability to perform all diagnostic radiologic examinations.
- Extensive knowledge of anatomy and positioning techniques.
- Extensive knowledge of the equipment utilized in the performance of examinations
- Extensive knowledge of radiation safety.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and meet deadlines.
- Demonstration of ethical and professional conduct.
- Provides open, accurate, and responsive communication, oral or written on an individual basis or in groups.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
- Identify each patient and review each patient’s requisition for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis and all demographic information. Explain the procedure to the patient.
- Assesses patient condition before, during, and after examination. Report any pertinent information.

- Review each exam for technical accuracy. Ensure that all pertinent patient information, anatomical orientation, and film identification are on all images. Present completed examination for interpretation.
- Performs all exams using ALARA standards
- Coordinate examinations to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care and assist in the management of workflow.
- Maintains exam room for optimum efficiency.
- Promote collaborative working relationships with colleagues. Participate in the orientation and training of new employees Contribute to the overall improvement of the department by offering suggestions and training.
- Initiate applicable “incident reports” by the end of the shift and report incomplete and incorrect examinations to ensure the proper patient charge and continuity of patient care.
- Report all safety hazards that could harm patients, visitors, or other employees to the appropriate party.
- Establish and maintain a good rapport and cooperative relationship with center staff.
- Monitor inventory of supplies and notify supervisor when stock is low.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Capability to be independently mobile.
- Ability to manage physically aggressive patients.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance, reach, stoop, and bend while maintaining a good mechanical position.
- Ability to perform tasks for long periods with multiple distractions.
- Manual dexterity is sufficient to operate the equipment.
- Hearing and visual acuity are sufficient to perform examinations, observe patients, read monitors and documents, and hear equipment alarms.
- Ability to work within a limited space.
INTERRELATIONSHIPS:
- Interpersonal skills are necessary to interact effectively with staff, physicians, patients, and families who may or may not be under physical and emotional stress.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Provides excellent customer service to all patients, physicians and co-workers.
