Position: Accounts Receivable Specialist (Construction)

Reports To: Accounts Receivable Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

Hobbs & Associates, LLC, is seeking an experienced, driven Accounts Receivable Specialist to grow our Accounts Receivable team in our corporate office.

As a Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will represent Hobbs with professionalism, steadiness, and confidence as you ensure that our customers pay their accounts timely. You will partner with individuals in our various sales teams to address issues related to delays in payment to work toward an amicable resolution. Finally, in your role, you will complete weekly reporting in an effort to ensure continuous communication with the sales team and with your leadership team.

Responsibilities for Accounts Receivable Specialist

  • Process Accounts Receivable transactions
  • Regularly make collection calls, following up with emails, and augment notes on customers.
  • Review new credit applications and set up new customer accounts as needed.
  • Provide administrative and accounting support for month-end processes.
  • Prepare cash receipts for processing.
  • Perform account reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage collection efforts and associated functions.
  • Communicate with sales team to discuss and resolve any issues delaying payment.
  • Process lien waivers.

Minimum qualifications of the Accounts Receivable Specialist

  • At minimum, an Associate's Degree in Accounting or an Accounting related degree or an equivalent of 3 years’ experience in commercial construction collections.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience of high-volume collections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of FACTS accounting software, QuickBooks and/or Field Edge a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze large sets of data.
  • High degree of familiarity with Accounts Receivable functions.
