CCC is looking to employ an Academic Instructors(AI) (Full-time & Part-time) to provide appropriate discipline specific to academic and administrative leadership to coursework. The AI will provide academic instruction related to criminal justice and restorative justice while providing an oversight of leadership and practicum offerings. The AI will develop and facilitate class discussions that support social, emotional, and mental health services to students. The AI will coordinate and provide trainings for the students/families and communities to help the student achieve their academic goals. The AI will support and empower the student in providing knowledge, skills, experience needed to successfully achieve course learning outcomes. The AI will serve as a role model and mentor and align with the agency's mission and purpose of creating a learning environment.

As an Academic Instructor, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives by providing high-quality instruction in your area of expertise. Whether you are teaching academic subjects, vocational skills, or specialized courses, your role is crucial in helping students achieve their learning goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and interactive instructional sessions to students
  • Create lesson plans and curriculum materials and objectives in order to ensure student's understanding of expectations(i.e. course work, syllabus, etc..
  • Assess student performance related to learning objectives and identify areas of improvement.
  • Assist students in developing educational and career goals, and seek the information necessary to achieve those goals
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in instructional methods, etc...
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Perform other duties relevant the job positions

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree(PHD preferred) in criminal justice or related field w/emphasis on professional development, human growth and development, and educational program and policy development
  • 3 years or more experience as school administrator or teacher
  • Knowledge of restorative justice and positive behavioral intervention strategies
  • Demonstrated leadership experience developing, implementing and evaluating restorative justice and mindfulness programs
  • Knowledge of mindfulness practices with special attention to de-escalation strategies, re-entry into learning environments, student engagement, and behavioral management protocols
  • Ability to exercise independent initiatives to complete assignments
  • Experience working with and mentoring across diverse groups
  • Excellent oral, written and listening communication skills
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Positive human relations & behavioral intervention skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Demonstrated skill as an effective mentor to administrators, teachers and student leaders
  • Ability to plan and implement workshops, adult learning and professional development opportunities for small and large groups
  • Ability to plan, lead and support training activities
  • Proficiency in using educational technology tools and platforms
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
