Senior Transportation Connection (STC) provides coordinated, efficient and affordable transportation to seniors and adults with disabilities throughout Cuyahoga County. We serve individuals who have mobility challenges due to age, lack of access, disability, frailty or inability to drive. More than 12,000 registered riders live in 36 zip codes covering 75 percent of Cuyahoga County. Two-thirds of passengers use a wheelchair, walker or other aid to mobility.

WE ARE HIRING BOTH FULL AND PART-TIME DRIVERS


Reports to: Driver Supervisor

FLSA Category: Non-exempt

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Responsibilities

Operates passenger vehicles to drive assigned transportation routes throughout the county, assisting client passengers as appropriate in a courteous and professional manner. Often loads and off-loads walking aids, e.g., canes, walkers, etc. and packages.

Ensures routes are consistently completed safely and on time. Remains in constant communication with Dispatch Office. Promptly reports and records deviations when necessary. Requests backup assistance when appropriate.

Performs accurate, efficient and thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift. Completes requisite documentation.

Ensures assigned vehicles are properly and consistently cleaned inside and outside, and fueled on an ongoing basis. Monitors vehicle condition and records malfunctioning items or damage promptly, using appropriate documentation and reporting rules.

Maintains all required licenses, certifications and other training requirements.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent highly desirable. Must be able to communicate effectively in written and oral form.

Must possess work history with track record of successful customer service.

Minimum three (3) years driving experience required. Experience as a professional driver highly desirable.

Must hold a valid driver’s license with no more than two (2) points on record. Annual verifications are performed.

Must pass criminal background check prior to hire.

Must pass drug and alcohol tests prior to hire, and random tests thereafter.

Must pass physical exam as required by the Ohio Department of Transportation prior to hire.
