Dude’s Dog House & Spa, Fall Church’s newest premier high-quality dog care facility requires our Dog Day Care Attendants to provide excellent care to dogs staying at our facility. You should be someone who loves animals and can provide high-quality pet care for dogs staying with us for either day care or boarding. We expect you to both provide a fun, safe, and clean environment for dogs, and ensure pet owners that their dogs are well cared for and safe. Prior experience with dogs is a must.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • MAINTAIN SAFETY OF PETS IN OUR CARE AT ALL TIMES
  • Arrive on-time for shifts, and accurately record arrival and departure times on timesheet.
  • No Phones Allowed in the Dog Areas While Working
  • For the assigned pet care area (small, medium, or large dog area):
    • Interact with all the dogs in a loving manner.
    • Clean up after the dogs.
    • Learn the individual dog names.
    • Supervise assigned pet area to ensure pet safety.
    • Vacuum and mop the playroom floor to keep it free of waste, fur, or hair, and other unsanitary or hazardous materials.
    • Bag, Tie and Deposit all pet waste outside in the appropriate container.
    • Ensure cleaning product spray bottles are full at the beginning and throughout the shift.
    • Validate clean towels are available at the beginning and throughout the shift.
    • While the dogs are outside playing, clean up any dog waste on the ground and bag, tie and deposit into provided waste container.
    • Monitor and restrict level of dog noise in outside areas in respect for our neighbors
    • Provide fresh water to dogs continuously.
    • Feed the dogs breakfast separately (and administering medication, if needed).
    • Monitor the behavior of multiple dogs.
    • Immediately alert owners or supervisory dog day care attendant of any injury to a pet.
    • Provide comments to the business owners or supervisory dog day care attendant of any disruptive or unsafe behavior by individual dogs.
  • As needed, wash and dry soiled laundry.
  • At the end of the shift, or as needed, empty outside waste container.
  • Respect value and worth that all team members bring to the organization regardless of sex, age, nationality, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
  • Any other duty assigned by the owners to assist with the safe operation of the business.

Wear appropriate clothing and shoes so that the risk of dog scratches is minimized

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Prior experience at a dog daycare facility, shelter, or personal animal care, and not being afraid of dogs.
  • Ability to commit to requested shifts.
  • Familiarity with various dog breeds.
  • Passion for taking care of animals.
  • Teamwork and communication skills.
  • Physical stamina for cleaning and maintaining pet areas.
  • Phone and headsets in the office while working.

Monday thru Friday
10:30am - 4:00pm

Occasional Weekends
