Responsibilities

· Load bank testing on diesel, natural gas, and propane generators

· Diagnose and repair issues found during planned maintenance routines

· Perform voltage checks on generators based on customer requirements

· Install, wire, and adjust control panels and voltage regulators

· Change oil, filters, and perform preventative maintenance routines

· Work with the Service Manager on project progress, estimates, etc.

· Assist with other duties as required

Job Skills

· In-depth understanding of engines and/or generator technology and/or electrical systems

· Ideal candidates will have experience working with commercial power generators

· Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues on diesel, natural gas, or propane generators

· Exceptional communication skills needed to work with team and customers

· Proficient with estimating time required to complete tasks

· EGSA tech or other certifications are a plus, but not required

Mechanical Service Company, based in Pittston, PA, has an immediate need for a Generator Technician. This is an entry level position with advancement opportunities within the company. We are willing to train individuals with a mechanical or electrical background. The position requires troubleshooting and repairing alternating current electrical systems on generators, automatic transfer switches, generator controls, and engine related mechanical failures. Will also be required to perform preventative maintenance routines, including oil and filter changes and equipment inspections
