Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret shop work instructions and shop procedures.
  • Disassemble / Assemble valves and route to other production areas as required work instructions.
  • Identify components necessary for reassembly and submit material requests to inventory control.
  • Fit and reassemble valves after completion of other production and quality control processes.
  • Valve grinding using pneumatic and electric hand grinders.
  • Cross-trained in other areas as needed.
  • Successfully complete Operator Safety Training of Powered Industrial Equipment Training Course.
  • Significant overtime and weekend work required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to stand, crouch and bend for 8 hour shifts.
  • Must have experience with valves.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Forklift (sit down and reach) experience.
  • Crane (overhead) experience.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Education and Qualifications

  • High School or GED required.
  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • 2+ years of valve or related mechanical experience.
