Position Summary:

Responsible for providing extraordinary customer service both internally and externally by taking a personal interest, developing relationships, and creating a positive experience with each customer he/she deals with. Provides assistance to each customer to determine their financial needs as well as handle his/her day-to-day transactions. Ensures operational efficiency and quality standards are met demonstrating compliance with all State, Federal and other applicable bank regulations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides exceptional customer service building rapport and relationships using the 7-Step Sales Process to use a need’s-based selling approach. Identifies and acts upon sales and business relationship opportunities.
  • Strives to guarantee customer satisfaction through engaging with customers to welcome them, personalize the experience and determine the best way to serve them.
  • Embraces the Bank’s CORE values and cultural foundation by being a positive role model emulating all qualities and using the Bank’s general business standards.
  • Responds to financial transactions, practices sound cash handling practices and answers inquiries and/or resolves simple to complex concerns on customer accounts.
  • Promotes the banks products and services.
  • Engages in learning opportunities to advance knowledge base by requesting training, volunteering for projects, bringing new ideas/suggestions to the forefront and being an achiever.
  • Participates, completes and attends mandatory training and/or online assignments for regulatory compliance as scheduled. Understands and observes all security and regulatory banking requirements to maintain compliance within State and Federal guidelines.
  • Becomes involved in internal and external bank-sponsored events.
  • Provides exceptional customer service building rapport and relationships using the 7-Steps Sales Process to use a needs-based selling approach.
  • Identifies and acts upon sales and business relationship opportunities.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills with ability to work well with customers, employees and others in a cooperative, positive manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability to actively listen to others, interpret information, and interact in a positive, helpful manner.
  • Effective customer service skills that include assessing customer need, making recommendations for effective problem resolution consistent with standard practices and being focused on meeting customer expectation.
  • Ability to understand how to present features and benefits of products and services to customers with differing needs.
  • Must possess excellent judgment with the ability to accept responsibility and handle confidential information.
  • Must be able to work effectively within a team environment and build solid relationships with all individuals he/she works with.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks in a given situation. Must be able to adapt to change.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to two years of retail banking experience.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Cash handling experience a plus.
  • Customer service experience a plus.
