As background, our Firm primarily specializes in Special Districts, Governmental and Municipal Law, along with Land Use, Zoning and Environmental Law. We provide legal assistance to a number of Water Control/Improvement Districts, Municipalities and similar governmental entities.
You will need to be able to tactfully and efficiently address client’s questions, requests, meet on occasion with legislators and be able to advise on political issues for clients. Once you are comfortable with a client, you will be expected to attend and preside over meetings, planning sessions, discussions and then implement resolutions to the issues.
Knowledge of the following is beneficial:
· Knowledge of the Sunshine Law
· Knowledge of Florida’s Public Records Law
· Knowledge of Real Property Law, including plats, and the preparation/review of deeds, and easements
· Understanding the workings of Ch. 197, Florida Statutes in regard to the levy and collection of non-ad valorem assessments
· Able to work with District Administrators, Engineers and Personnel on a daily basis
· The ability to draft contracts, waivers, resolutions, policies and procedures
