Job Description:

Our client in Santa Rosa is seeking a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. This position is full-time and offers a competitive salary of $60,000 to $70,000 per year. The role is initially temporary with the strong potential to transition to a permanent position based on performance and fit. This is an on-site position and is not remote.

 

Responsibilities:

- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.

- Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.

- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.

- Process payroll and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.

- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.

- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.

- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company procedures.

- Assist with internal and external audits.

- Provide administrative support as needed, including filing, data entry, and record keeping.

- Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.

- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office, particularly Excel.

- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

- High level of integrity and confidentiality.

- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.

- Relevant certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) is a plus.
