Die Maintenance Technician (Tool and Die)

Position Objective

Maintain and repair stamping dies in a fast - paced environment while keeping safety, quality, and productivity our number 1 goal.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on Dies.
  • Repair jobs assigned each day.
  • Fabricate parts and exit chutes, scrap deflectors, rollers, brackets etc...
  • Clean, wash, and polish dies utilizing die wash (high pressure)
  • Operate overhead crane: Rig, flip and move dies in proximity.
  • Operate Large Industrial Forklifts.
  • Remove distortion from forming inserts by hand grinding (using red primer and surface plate for checking flatness).
  • Replace or repair punches and pierce bushings (Sharpen punches, shim up pierce bushings and hand grind to master surface).

· Reconstruct and repair heavily damaged inserts and make small die modifications.

  • Measure, mark, weld, scribe, grind cutting inserts for repair.
  • Maintain toolbox and tools. (Must be kept clean, neat, and account for each tool used)
  • Replace die sensors.
  • After repair fill out work orders and ensure die goes back to its specific area.
  • Clean and maintain work areas every day.

Minimum Requirements

· Must be able to TIG, MIG and ARC weld

· Must have a positive, energetic ready to work and learn attitude.

(Note) *Prior Tool and Die experience is a huge plus.
