Looking for compounding pharmacy technician.(Short-term)

Job Overview: The Compounding Pharmacy Technician will assist the pharmacist with providing safe and appropriate pharmacy services to our patients in accordance with the policies and procedures of Pharmacy Solutions, the state’s professional standards, and other regulatory entities. The Compounding Technician works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, working in the clean room and compounding medication. A compounding Technician is experienced in all aspects of medication compounding and plays a significant role in the coordination of patient services.

Prefer someone with experience, however will train the right candidate in compounding if trying to transition from retail to compounding

Must have a VALID/CURRENT Pharmacy Technician License with the State Board of California.
Must have the ability to work accurately under time and volume constraints.
Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail and communication skills.

Hours of operations: Monday- Friday 8.30am:5:30 pm, saturday 9 am - 2 pm, sunday -closed

Must Prepare medications for patients and be able to type prescriptions accurately

Be willing to help with all types of pharmacy related works

Compounding Technician Duties

Counting/pouring/mixing/weighing/affixing labels/taping
Proper operation and maintenance of all compounding equipment (mortar and pestles (manual and electronic), capsule machine, ointment mill, and biosafety cabinets
Maintenance of logs: freezer, balance calibrations, humidity, filter logs, environmental monitoring logs, and temperature logs
Glassware and equipment washing and proper waste removal

Technician Standard Duties

Expedites prescription processing by performing all duties necessary and allowable, by Standard of Practice or lawReceives new and refilled prescriptions from customers and/or prescribers for filling
Checks items for appropriate Expiration or Beyond Use Date (BUD)
Places incoming drugs on stock shelves or in refrigerator, when required
Checks stock to remove outdated items, as often as deemed necessary by the PIC
Cleans pharmacy shelves and work areas and maintains entire premises according to current SOPs
Other duties as assigned
