Job DescriptionJob Description

The Accountant will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with experience in construction accounting who can handle the complexities of job costing, contract management, and project budgeting. The ideal candidate will ensure accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with industry standards, and effective financial management to support our company's growth.


Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and manage project-related financial records, including job cost reports, budgets, and forecasts.

Prepare and analyze project budgets, costs, and profitability, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

Monitor and track construction contract costs, change orders, and billings.

Manage accounts payable and receivable specific to construction projects.

Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and job cost transactions.

Assist in preparing financial statements, monthly closings, and year-end audits.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.

Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to resolve financial discrepancies.

Prepare and submit reports to management on project financial status and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls and accounting procedures.

Support payroll processing and reporting for construction labor and subcontractors.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in construction accounting or a similar role.

Proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, QuickBooks, Viewpoint) and Microsoft Excel.

Strong knowledge of job costing, contract management, and project accounting.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with construction industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with project teams and management.
