Job DescriptionJob Description

The primary objective of this position is to support the product development process from conception to launch.


Job Requirements: include the following essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in the evaluation of prototypes/samples including product set-up, and longevity testing. Collect, confirm, file, and present all physical measurements of assigned products. Re-confirm those measurements in final specifications.
  • Update and evaluate software in prototypes to ensure compatibility with existing products, document and offer feedback to the appropriate Product Manager. Create new ShowXpress profiles.
  • Setup and evaluate competing products as directed.
  • Coordinate and manage inventory of samples, demo gear. Manage product transfers and shipping for the Product Development department.
  • Create new and update existing outer and inner boxes, and silk screens, as directed.
  • Assist quality control, marketing, sales, and service to set up products, reduce/eliminate product quality issues and to identify improvement opportunities as directed.
  • Train other departments as directed.



Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 6 months or more experience and/or training in prototype/sample evaluation and teardown/reassembly of lighting, small electronics or technical products prototype.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in diagram form, follow established procedures, and keep accurate records. Attention to detail. Excellent communication and time management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must complete Chauvet University Modules 1-6.


Physical Demands:

The employee will occasionally be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and balance. The employee will routinely be required to lift up to 50lbs unassisted, and may be required to lift or move more than 100lbs. assisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Overnight travel via air or land transportation required.

Working Conditions:

Work may be performed outside of a climate controlled environment and will involve exposure to extreme noise levels.
