POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Kal Krishnan Consulting Services, Inc. (KKCS) seeks an experienced construction project planner, project controls engineer, or P6 scheduler for a full-time Senior Scheduler opportunity in Los Angeles, CA. The Senior Scheduler reports to the Project Control Manager and directly supports the Project Management Team with P6 scheduling activities and contractor/stakeholder coordination on transit-related capital projects. The successful candidate will have proven scheduling experience on projects of varying size and complexity, including multi-phase, multi-million-dollar construction, and renovation projects. The Senior Scheduler will work on-site at the project office in Los Angeles.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and maintains detailed construction planning schedules for new construction and renovation work.
  • Develops and analyzes labor and equipment resources and cost-load the time-phased schedules.
  • Prepares detailed plans, time-scaled charts, and diagrams.
  • Monitors project progress against an established baseline.
  • Provides time impact analysis of schedule changes, identifies schedule variances and opportunities, and proactively develops mitigation strategies for the Project Management Team.
  • Maintains simplified logic schedules to highlight status of key interfaces for critical path review.
  • Reviews contractor-submitted schedules and provides written comments, coordinates schedule comments, and corrections with contractors.
  • Provides progress reporting documents and briefing materials as required.
  • Develops creative reporting tools to communicate complex project sequencing and/or progress assessments.
  • Promptly reports schedule variances with recommendations for corrective actions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field
  • At least 10 years of project scheduling experience in heavy civil or multiple projects
  • Demonstrated experience scheduling the design and construction of large-scale, complex projects, including developing and managing a progress reporting methodology for a complicated design effort
  • Self-starter with results-driven focus and ability to work with others
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand a demanding, technical, and complicated design and/or construction program plus the ability to communicate progress and issues to technical and management-level personnel
  • Demonstrated experience with Primavera Project Planner version 12.0 or higher
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven accuracy, reliability, and completeness in job accomplishment
  • Demonstrated success on the job as evidenced by satisfactory performance, acceptance of responsibility, and growth in previous position(s)
