This role is pivotal in shaping the learning and development landscape at Plymouth Housing, a community-focused organization committed to providing housing and support services to individuals experiencing homelessness. As a Learning and Development Trainer, you'll play a crucial role in facilitating tailored training programs and delivering dynamic learning experiences to empower staff members in their roles. Additionally, you'll contribute to Plymouth's mission of diversity, equity, and inclusion by fostering an environment where all voices are heard and valued.

Plymouth Housing is a nonprofit organization that develops and operates permanent supportive housing for single adults who have experienced chronic homelessness. With apartment buildings throughout King County, Plymouth is helping the most vulnerable members of our community leave homelessness behind forever. At Plymouth, we’re not simply trying to get people off the streets. We provide supportive services like case management and health care so that our residents can thrive long-term. As part of our strategic vision, we are building internal behavioral health services and transforming our systems to address rapid growth and the changing needs of residents.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE DOING IN THIS ROLE AT PLYMOUTH HOUSING

  • Provide input on the design of comprehensive training programs and materials tailored to meet identified learning objectives and address skill gaps.
  • Deliver dynamic and interactive training sessions in both classroom and virtual settings, ensuring maximum engagement and knowledge retention among participants.
  • Develop expertise in relevant subject areas, staying abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance training content and methodologies.
  • Collect feedback from participants to assess the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to recommend improvements to learning content.
  • Utilize Plymouth’s learning management system to organize, deliver, and track training activities and resources effectively.
  • Provide guidance and support to other trainers or internal subject matter experts.
  • Contribute to the continuous evaluation and refinement of training processes, methodologies, and materials.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or a related field or equivalent and relevant work experience.
  • Certification in training facilitation (e.g., Train-the-Trainer programs, ATD Master Trainer, or specific training content) is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Learning and Development Trainer or similar role, with a minimum of 3 years in delivering training programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and training evaluation methodologies.
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information and build rapport with learners.
  • Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) or similar training tracking mechanisms, virtual facilitation tools, and other training technology platforms.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Experience in a non-profit environment is preferred.
