MakiMaki is a fast casual sushi bar that utilizes robotics and process improvements to be able to make sushi rolls cost effectively, speedy and with the highest quality due to fish turnover. Currently there are 3 stores in Manhattan with a 4th one coming along the way. We are busy with caterings, lunch, early evenings and large events. Currently we are looking for a store manager to operate one of our stores.
- Manage, direct and oversee staff at 1 operating location
- Manage day-to-day operations of the store
- Manage total inventory of perishable and non-perishable resources
- Develop full knowledge of our operation line, from beginning to end
- Assure readiness and compliance of DOH letter grade-A certification
- Quality assurance control of all fish and vegetables used in making sushi
- Develop Bi-Weekly Staff Schedule
- Fill in for all positions (Chef, Cashier, Prep) as needed (Plug in holes)
- Assure caterings are prepared and delivered on time (can get very big)
- Help team open and shutdown store on a daily basis (closes at 8PM)
- Assist other store by preparing and transporting fish and supplies.
Please note the location is open 5 days (Monday-Friday), opens at 11:00AM and closes at 8:00PM. On Friday's the store closes early at 5:00PM. The latest people leave is around 8:30PM so many people get to enjoy a good work-life balance. At the same time this is a growth opportunity as we look towards opening additional stores.
Candidates that will be considered are those that:
- Have a NYC DOH Food Handlers Certificate
- 2+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably in QSR
- Have a positive outlook and charisma
- Can lift 50 lbs on a frequent basis
- Proven track record of hiring and training staff in the past
- Professional references are needed
Starting compensation will be $60-65K with quarterly bonus based on store and individual performance.
5 days of vacation days will be provided on an annual basis.
