DTLA Surgery Center is in need of Experienced Operating Room Nurses. Candidates must be thoroughly familiar with and totally comfortable in the role of patient advocate, as applied to Operating Room (O.R.) nursing. Must have experience in at least on of the following specialties: Orthopedic, General Surgery(Lap Chole and Hernia mainly), ENT, and Ophthalmology.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of one year of experience in perioperative nursing (preferred but not mandatory) including a thorough working knowledge of surgical and aseptic technique.
2. Have a working knowledge of the physiological and anatomical aspects of the surgical intervention scheduled.
3. Must be licensed in the State of California as an RN and have current C.P.R. certification. ACLS preferred.
4. Must be able to communicate and understand the English language, both verbal and written.
5. Must possess the physical ability and perceptive acuity (e.g., visual, hearing) to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect care functions.
6. May be expected to lift twenty-five pounds without assistance. Is required to obtain assistance when moving patients unable to assist in moving, unless the patient is in a wheelchair or on gurney. May be required to push patients in wheelchairs or on gurneys. Will be expected to obtain assistance when needed.
