Job Description for Machine Technician

Impackt Packaging is a distribution company in Hazleton, PA looking to add a Machine Technician to our expanding team

 

 

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

  • Understanding, knowledge, and experience with packing-related equipment (i.e. stretch film machines, shrink film machines, auto baggers, case erectors, carton sealers, strapping, etc)
  • Understanding of automated packaging equipment
  • Must be able to perform installations & new setups of packaging equipment
  • Ability to read manuals, blueprints, drawings, and diagrams of all packaging equipment
  • Must speak, read and write English
  • Ability to fix, repair, service, and perform maintenance on packaging equipment
  • Travel to customers to perform maintenance, service, installations, and repair
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and take corrective action for machine failures and issues

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent, trade school and or engineering degree a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in conventional machining tools such as packaging machines. 
  • Ability to read drawings/specifications and interpret a variety of instructions whether in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Knowledge of various types of machinery & their specific functions.
  • Knowledge of various machining processes and functions.
  • Speak, read, and write in English.
  • Demonstrate initiative & the ability to work independently.
