General Function:

The Program and Project Support Specialist assists in the tracking and management in the installation/integration of digital learning and business systems K-12 environment.

 

Education/Training/Experience

 

Minimum: High School Diploma, with a minimum of 1 year of project/program planning/management experience, preferably within a K-12 environment.

 

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Technology or a field directly related to the functions of the job, three or more years of program/project planning/management experience within the K-12 environment.

 

Essential Job Functions:

● Responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation, and follow-up of district projects and programs related to educational settings and business practices.

● Work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure programs and projects are implemented with fidelity.

● Assist in the evaluation of programs and projects (planning, integration, annual review).

● Maintain an active awareness of emerging information, trends, and applications for technology and learning, as well as K-12 technology related business practices.

● Participate in stakeholder groups as necessary.

● Collaborate as necessary to be proactive in providing a positive end-user experience to promote and enable positive learning and business experiences.

● Facilitate open and consistent communication around technology between sites and departments.

● Provide support in the meaningful collection and analysis of metrics aimed at showing the value of recently integrated programs and projects.

● Seek and maintain appropriate certification, related to the position such as PMP, etc.

● Provide frequent updates relating to assigned work.

● Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

Knowledge/Skills and Abilities:

Experience managing and evaluating projects and programs within an educational environment. Ability to work with multiple stakeholders (teachers, students, administrators, contractors, community members). Ability to relate to students with diverse backgrounds and needs. Ability to relate to teachers with diverse experiences with technology integration. Strong background managing educational projects and programs. Excellent written and oral communication. Ability to make decisions that have a long-term effect and/or legal and financial implications for school and district. Ability to multi-task, prioritize work activities, and meet deadlines. Use of technology for data collection, analysis and reporting to promote academic achievement. Must be highly organized, motivated, flexible and have an ability to understand problems, issues, and solutions from an enterprise level.

 

Resources Used in Performing Job Include (but are not limited to):

Standard office and classroom equipment, including computers, tablets, apps, copiers, fax, phone system, alarm system. Automobile to travel to other district buildings.

 

Physical/Cognitive Requirements:

Walking, standing. Alternate high energy with long periods of time sitting in meetings. Travel to

community/district meetings and events. Ability to lift 25 pounds.

 

Environmental Conditions:

Work is performed both in classrooms and in a standard office environment. Position requires driving among school sites to attend meetings and trainings, some of which occur in the evening. Heavy telephone and interaction with, district staff and community. Frequent interruptions.

 

Personal Accountability:

1. Demonstrates reliability as evidenced by attendance records and punctuality.

2. Properly notifies supervisor and/or designee of absences or tardiness.

3. Begins and completes work within the allotted time.

4. Consistently appears in attire appropriate to the work environment.

5. Demonstrates skill in the use of equipment including its capabilities, limitations and appropriate/ special application.

6. Protects the District’s resources through appropriate and careful use of supplies and equipment.

Utilizes appropriate body mechanics to aid in the prevention of muscle strain/injury.
