Job Type: Contract, 3-month assignment

Job Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Compensation: Up to $23.00 per hour + benefits

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to join a team for a 3-month contract assignment. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for performing light clerical duties within an accounting function, including typing, matching payments, checking items on purchase orders, preparing bank deposits, and performing other routine calculations with specific instructions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform light clerical duties within an accounting function, including typing, matching payments, checking items on purchase orders, preparing bank deposits, and performing other routine calculations with specific instructions
  • Use 10-key skills by touch or sight
  • Familiarity with computers and basic principles of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Perform basic accounting functions requiring knowledge of accounts payable and receivable and of bank reconciliation functions
  • Answer customer inquiries
  • Research problems and/or complaints
  • Create and edit spreadsheets
  • Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience in accounting or a related field
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Ability to type at least 40 words per minute with high accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
