JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

This position provides the inside sales function of the company. This includes all policies, procedures, sales strategies, inside sales goals, and objectives as outlined in the strategic business plan and as executed by the Inside Sales Supervisor and Director of Sales & Marketing.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Inside Sales Specialist reports directly to the Inside Sales Supervisor.

SCHEDULE

  • Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Sunday – Limited shift hours as needed (3 hours max) rotating schedule.

Rotating Holidays TBD by shipping schedule

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary responsibility to support and maintain specific sales territories, sales employees, customers, and Department of Defense contract entities.
  • Establish and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Respond timely to customer and outside sales inquiries regarding sales, products or services required for individual customers, and follow through to assure those inquiries are resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Required to regularly attend Sales Training Sessions and meetings (frequently off site) and engage in sales initiatives as directed by the Company Sales Plan.
  • Required to support other company initiatives when directed.
  • Must be well organized, work at a level of high accuracy, and possess a sense of urgency when dealing with customer needs and requests.
  • Must submit to criminal background check required by Department of Defense policy regarding STORES database access.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High School diploma required. Associates degree or equivalent years of business experience preferred.

Experience:

Minimum three years’ experience as an Inside Sales Representative, broadline food service distribution experience preferred.

Reasoning:

Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple and changing priorities. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to sell HPC products and ideas to customers.

Other:

People skills required to deal with all types of people. Effective negotiating, problem-resolution, and persuasion skills. Excellent skill in dealing with customers. Proficient in MS Office; experience with AS400 a plus.

MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE

The Inside Sales Specialist will be evaluated specifically on the following factors:

  • Quality of work including timeliness and accuracy
  • Participation in Sales Initiatives
  • Feedback from customers
  • Feedback from Supervisor & Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Ability to handle customer requests and issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Organizational skills
