**Location**: Boston, MA  
**Duration**: 13 weeks  
**Shift**: 5x8s, Day (07:00 AM - 03:30 PM)  
**Approved Hours**: 40 hours per week  
**Pay Range**: $22 to $24 per hour

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Laboratory Animal Technician to join our team in Boston, MA. This is a 13-week contract position with day shifts (5x8s), providing an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment. The Laboratory Animal Technician will be responsible for the care and maintenance of laboratory animals, ensuring their well-being and adherence to research protocols.

**Responsibilities**:
- Provide daily care and observation of laboratory animals, including feeding, watering, and health monitoring.
- Maintain clean and organized animal housing and work areas in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Assist with the administration of medications, collection of samples, and execution of experimental procedures as directed by research staff.
- Monitor and record environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and lighting to ensure a stable and appropriate environment for the animals.
- Perform routine maintenance and sanitation of animal cages, equipment, and facilities.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for both animals and staff.
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, health observations, and research activities in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with research staff to support ongoing studies and provide technical assistance as needed.

**Requirements**:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years of related work experience required, with at least one year of experience working with animals or in a lab animal environment.
- Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) Certification required.
- Valid COVID-19 vaccination card required.

**Preferred Skills**:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic knowledge of animal physiology and behavior.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
