Special Projects Project Manager Expectations:
● Trust is the name of the game. You'll have to proactively communicate proposals, costs, change orders, contract requirements, schedules and issues with customers to gain and maintain relationships.
● Relationships with customers are at the heart of this job and your expertise will make or break every job.
● Communication is key. You will be the first contact for the owner of the job, subcontractors and other team members on the job as construction progresses.
● You'll have a mix of office, being outdoors, driving from site to site, communicating with customers and other team members. You will be required to climb ladders and conduct inspections at height.
● Don't expect to be doing the same thing every day You'll be on the go constantly and will perform a variety of tasks, from running jobs, creating schedules, coordinating subcontractors and other team members while occasionally selling and estimating projects.
● Beating your budget is always the goal, but only if it benefits both the client and the company… we expect you to always right-budget and run your project in an ethical manner.
● You’ll have to understand the customer’s needs and vision in order to create accurate recommendations, proposals and estimates and see the job through to the finish.
Special Projects Project Manager Education and Experience:
● Commercial Construction experience in the field (have you swung a hammer at a job site?)
● Basic understanding of construction best practices in one or more trades, like carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or roofing
● Second-nature with technology
● English fluency
● Experience selling to end users
● Valid Driver’s License
