A high volume multiple provider private practice dedicated to Women’s and Children's Health. The staff offers over 25 years of experience in the medical field. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant with OB/GYN experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in NextGen / or Athena EMR, strong leadership abilities, and the capability to work collaboratively within a team environment. The role requires multitasking skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Assist patients by providing information, services, and assistance in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Maintain medical supplies inventory and perform preventive maintenance to ensure proper functioning of medical equipment.
- Verify patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit.
- Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and providing a summary of patient history.
- Support physicians by assisting with office procedures, saving valuable time for patient care.
- Assist with in-office procedures including IUD insertion, Pap smears, Nexplanon insertion, biopsies, hysteroscopies, and NSTs.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information by completing and safeguarding medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Counsel patients by conveying physician's orders and addressing any questions or concerns regarding surgery.
- Establish and maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt to ensure adequate availability.
- Previous medical office experience, and knowledge of electronic medical records are preferred but not required for the right candidate.
