Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing infrastructure projects, specifically in earthwork and road construction. The Heavy Civil Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all phases of construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities for heavy civil projects, including earthwork, roads, and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
  • Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that may arise, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
  • Manage and supervise on-site construction teams, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Prepare and submit daily progress reports, documenting site activities and project status.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting of project costs.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities to facilitate project success.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on infrastructure, earthwork, and road projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and project documents.
  • Solid understanding of construction safety regulations and practices.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required. Equivalent experience will be considered.
