Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Low Voltage Cabling and Networking Equipment Installer to join our data center team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage cabling and networking equipment within our state-of-the-art data center. This role requires a strong understanding of network infrastructure, cabling standards, and best practices for data center environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Maintenance:

    • Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics) for network connectivity.
    • Mount and install networking equipment such as switches, routers, and patch panels.
    • Ensure all cabling is neat, organized, and adheres to industry standards and codes.
    • Label and document all cabling and equipment accurately.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair:

    • Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues related to cabling and network equipment.
    • Perform regular inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Project Coordination:

    • Work closely with the data center operations team to coordinate installation projects and upgrades.
    • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project timelines and requirements are met.
  • Compliance and Safety:

    • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including TIA/EIA, BICSI, and NEC.
  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of all installations, changes, and maintenance activities.
    • Provide detailed reports on project progress, issues, and resolutions

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Technical certification or training in low voltage cabling, networking, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in low voltage cabling and network equipment installation.
    • Experience working in a data center or similar environment is highly desirable.
  • Skills and Abilities:

    • Proficient in the installation and termination of Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling.
    • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and equipment.
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Certifications:

    • BICSI Technician, RCDD, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Capable of standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
