Job DescriptionJob Description

POSITION SUMMARY - We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer with a strong background in Quality Assurance to join our Product Support Team. The Product Support Team is responsible for the support and maintenance of central reservation management software, revenue management software, and customer facing web site and is critical to helping drive the business and backend processes of its clients. The QA Automation Engineer will play a key role in designing and deploying automated testing solutions and will assist in monitoring the systems and developing an automated testing suite from the ground up for our quality assurance processes. The candidate is also expected to collaborate and communicate effectively with the Product Support and Development teams to drive continual improvements to our testing processes and methodologies, all with the goal of continually improving the product quality and customer experience. This position will report directly to the QA Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifying automation processes that could lead to performance issues with apps and software.
  • Writing clean, high-quality scripts that test product functionality automatically.
  • Conducting various tests for systems, applications, databases, and software.
  • Logging and documenting errors and create bug reports in Jira.
  • Identifying and analyzing bugs and proposing solutions.
  • Conducting scenario tests to determine the stability of automation under stress.
  • Help monitor our systems 24/7, 365 to help ensure that critical issues are reported and resolved.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader Development Team on all aspects of project planning, execution, issue resolution etc.
  • Ensure testing projects are thoroughly planned and test plans and cases are reviewed with peers in Development, Project Management and Product Support teams.
  • Execute testing as needed within the project timelines ensuring issues are managed and resolved prior to their impacting the project.
  • Work collaboratively with the Development Team on recommending and implementing test process, tools etc. improvements to ensure we are continually improving the quality of our products.
  • Work with the Product Support Team on customer issue investigation as needed to ensure timely customer issue resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 or more years of professional work experience in software QA or a related field.
  • BS in Computer Science or similar related field.
  • Knowledge of mobile and desktop software QA processes.
  • Knowledge of QA methodologies that cover regression testing, ad hoc testing, functional testing and verification of calculations, user interface testing, and integration testing.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent context switching.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and proactive.
  • Outstanding collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
