Tech Level 2: Basic Technician/Installer

1 – 2 Years Experience

¨  Requirements: Meets Tech Level 1 and the requirements and the list below.

¨  Code Compliance: Knowledgeable about the electric codes and regulations

¨  Documentation: Ability to create accurate and detailed documents for installations including wiring diagrams.  Able to read plans (Floor Plans, Window & Door Plans, Lighting Plans and etc.).

¨  Cabling and Wiring: Proficient in installing and terminating various types of low voltage Cables, such as Cat6, Cat7, Coaxial, Fiber Optic Cables.

¨  Wire Management: Labeling and Organizing of Structure Cabling.

¨  Testing and Troubleshooting: Proficient in using testing equipment like cable testers, multimeters, and tone generators to ensure proper connectivity.

¨  Mounting Equipment: TV’s, Soundbars, Access Points, Speakers, Doorbells, Cameras, Contacts.   

¨  Programming and Setup: TV’s Installations

¨  Network knowledge: Basic trouble shooting basic network issues

¨  Continuing Education: Willingness to stay updated on the latest technologies and industry trends through continuous learning and training.  Completing Google Classroom training courses.

¨  Customer Service: Demonstrate professionalism through strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and/or contractors, understand their requirements, and provide tailored solutions. Additionally, possess the ability to educate clients on the utilization and maintenance of low-voltage systems.

¨  Experience: Basic Electricity Knowledge.

¨  OVRC: Labeling and Setup of OVRC Systems.  Teaching and instructing customers on OVRC.

¨  Lead Tech Ability: Able to run a 2-man team for Wiring and Non-Programming Jobs. Act as senior tech on job when with Tech Level 1s.

¨  Vehicle Maintenance: Responsible for the upkeep of Vehicle

¨  Work Orders & Sales Order: Accountability of inventory and that are transferred back and forth for jobs.

 

Tech Level 3: Advanced Technician

2 Years Experience Plus

¨  Requirements:  Meets requirement for Tech Level 1 & 2 and the list of requirements below.

¨  Leadership:  Lead Tech on 2-man jobs with the ability to lead and train.

¨  Knowledge: Basic knowledge on all Low Voltage systems.

¨  Network Basic: Devices Connected to the network (Computers, Servers, Routers, Switches Etc.)  Basic Programming of routers.  Knowing how to remote in.  Advance trouble shooting networks.  Complete Snap Av Training Araknis Network.

¨  Installation and Programming:  CCTV Systems Basics.

¨  Installation and Programming: Alarm Systems Basics.

¨  Installation and Programming: Audio Setups (Receivers & Sound Systems).

¨  Installation and Programming: Door Entry Systems. (Kwikset, Doorbird, AIphone, Ring and Etc.)

¨  Installation and Programming: External Devices to TV’s.

¨  Control4: Setting up Control4 1 room solutions & Understanding Control4 Remotes

¨  Basic Knowledge: Lighting Systems, Motorized Shades, Access Control and Control 4 (Remotes).

¨  Walk Thru Customer: Communicate clearly with the customer on the products we just installed. (Show-N-Tell).

¨  Profitability: Able to provide outstanding customer service while providing a profitable margin.  Minimum go backs.

Minimum Job Requirements:

●      Strong verbal and written communication skills

●      Highly detailed, organized, and multitask driven

●      Proficient in all Apprentice level qualifications

●      Competent skills with desktop and mobile computing

●      Clean driving record and background check (required for DCJS certification)
