We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our amazing Accounting team The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for monitor the outflow of capital for the company. This generally includes receiving, processing, and verifying invoices, tracking, and recording purchase orders, and processing payments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Receive and verify expense reports; reconcile expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
- Facilitate payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
- Ensure outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identify discount opportunities, and issue purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
- Assist with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
- Calculate and report sales tax based on paid invoices.
- Maintain accurate historical records following established filing procedures.
- Assist with mail distribution, answering telephones, and other clerical tasks as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
- High school diploma.
- Reliable and extremely trustworthy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related programs.
- Ability to learn our accounting software systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Good verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Preferred Requirements
- 1 year experience in a similar role
- Previous experience using Quickbooks/ Great Plains
- Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification
- Business or Accounting degree
