Our client is a non-profit organization. They seek a temp to perm Grants/GL Accountant to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities

  • Draft requisitions for grants and programs from federal, state, and local sources
  • Create, manage, and update budgets for existing grants and programs
  • Review and record grant activity in financial accounting software
  • Monitor financial transactions regarding grants and restricted funding
  • Run P&L grant activity reports and provide analysis on variances
  • Prepare journal entries and assist in monthly closing
  • Document invoices and payments for both internal and additional affiliate
  • Record donations for both internal and additional affiliate
  • Maintain the general ledger to ensure accuracy of transactions
  • Liaise with staff across various departments on ad-hoc items and requests

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 2-3 years of grant administration and accounting experience
  • Non-profit industry experience preferred
  • Detail oriented and proven organization and planning skills
  • Able to provide satisfactory customer service to donors and staff
  • Multitasker and able to manage deadlines and priorities
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and Blackbaud Financial Edge
