The Data and Operations Analyst will primarily focus on collecting and summarizing data, supporting software and technology, and tackling essential tasks vital to property operations. The Analyst role is key in supporting high-level decision making with analytical emphasis on rental rates, portfolio-wide trends, and forecasting. Data and Operations Analysts play a pivotal role in software support, maintenance, integration, and advancing operational efficiency. They report to the Technology and Business Intelligence business units.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, real estate, data analytics, or related field.

Experience: None. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in data science or analytics a plus, and prior multi-family or commercial real-estate experience preferred.

License/Certification(s): None

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong organization, critical thinking, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when tackling tasks; possess a keen attention to detail.
  • Current knowledge of or experience in coding languages such as Python/R/VBA is a plus.
  • Current knowledge of or experience in using Property Management Software or ERPs is a plus.
  • Current knowledge of or experience in data analysis and visualization tools/languages is a plus.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Audits and report on property financial and operational performance.
  • Cultivates an understanding of property-level operations, to effectively support on-site teams.
  • Designs and maintain data dashboards & reports using management software, Excel, VBA, and PowerBI
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to leadership through reports, presentations, and visualizations.
  • Assists in operational support functions, ensuring properties operate effectively.
  • Assists in evaluation and analysis of core processes and tools, identify areas for improvement.
  • Assists in designing, documenting, and maintaining operational and technical processes.
  • Provides regular updates on revised processes to measure the effectiveness of enhancements.
  • Prepares an analysis of the financial impact of potential projects & initiatives.
  • Collaborates with interdepartmental teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data analysis and reporting solutions.
  • On board new software and support existing software across departments, including property management, HR, etc.
  • Research and pilot new tools and processes, determined by current strategic priorities.
  • Provide support during the property acquisition process, validating data, reports, and software implementation.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and technical innovations.
