Job DescriptionJob Description

SUMMARY: The Data Analyst Collect data from various sources, perform data analysis, and generate reports. This may include gathering data from surveys, customer feedback, and other data collection methods.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Reviews data from the data warehouse and reporting system and reports to determine correct information.

· Utilizes technical expertise to analyze system-related changes and participates in testing of various report modifications.

· Monitors report creation and reporting system updates to assure data integrity.

· Supports high customer standards by assisting with internal report request in a timely manner.

· Troubleshoots report errors and communicates with manager on areas of concern or corrections of errors that affect client reporting.

· Maintain files that support report documentation, specifically as they apply to stop loss reporting.

· Assures continuous quality management of data standards and content

· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency of overall work and ensure data integrity with procedures

· Applies analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities for improvement in data quality.

· Quality check policies and procedures and report errors to manager.

· Additionally, performs all other duties as assigned by the manager

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Competent in the following:

- Crystal Reports

- SQL

- SQL Server Report Writing

- Deerwalk

• Medical Claims and/or Health/Medical insurance experience preferred

• Excellent communication skills to present technical and business information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong computer skills, including Windows operating systems, Networking, Microsoft Office products, PGP, WinZip and web browsers.

• Strong understanding of stop loss contracts

• Strong attention to detail.

• Oral, written and open communication skills along with analytical, organization, and time management skills.

• Strong computer experience with Microsoft applications

• Demonstrates ability to multitask.

• Demonstrates critical thinking skills.

 

Preferred:

• Experience working with self-funded health plans

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization. Ability to effectively address or resolve customer service issues within guidelines of the position.

 

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

 

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid, class C license in state working with no adverse driving record.
