We are seeking a Logistics General Manager to join a rapid growing food distribution nationwide operation. This is a key role responsible for the management of all Logistics operations for their respective distribution centers.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of any processes and procedures improving service strategy and cost control plan of the business for entire operations 
  • Strong negotiation ability (Carrier, Customer, Margin Integrity) 
  • Develop & manage KPIs for logistics   
  • Build a world-class team, develop high-level service offerings, motivate and lead a staff. 
  • Coordinates with other operational resources, developing the strategic and tactical direction for all locations, establish management processes and metrics for performance and be accountable for financial performance of the Logistics business. 

Requirements

  • Must possess strong leadership abilities in proven logistic field   
  • 5+ years progressive responsibility managing logistics
  • Experience working with perishables
  • Knowledge of WMS (SAP is a plus)
  • Ability to communicate with employees at all levels 

Preferred experience with the below:

  • Truckmate Transportation Brokerage system  

  • PC Miler zip code to zip code mile calculator (zone tree) 

  • Qualcomm GPS  

  • Road Net TMS 

  • Load Boards 

  • Freight Calculator
