We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our Accounting Department as a Collections Associate on the Accounts Receivable Team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of client billings, and it involves a dynamic range of collections, administrative, and accounting responsibilities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Billing & Collections:

  • Assist in the weekly and monthly billing of clients.
  • Contribute to the preparation and processing of billing reviews and invoices.
  • Send invoices to clients through various channels (email, web, or hard copy).
  • Actively engage in the collection process for all accounts that may be behind in payment.

Administrative:

  • Create and edit emails for communication purposes.
  • Contact clients by phone to discuss and resolve accounting issues, and respond to telephone inquiries.
  • Assist in creating and distributing weekly reports.

Other:

  • Undertake additional accounting and administrative duties or special projects, as assigned.
  • Organize and maintain files related to accounting and client projects.

Skills and Specifications:

  • Experience with Accounting systems and databases.
  • Thorough understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, and follow instructions while complying with company policies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in computer software program-related activities.
  • Self-motivated, hardworking, ethical, and dependable.
  • Excellent rapport with management and co-workers, positive can-do attitude, and outstanding customer service and people skills.

Education, Qualifications, Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a fast paced accounting environment, preferably in Accounts Receivable
  • Experience working in a professional services environment preferred
  • Ability to pass a background check required
