Position Overview: WDHA is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as our Executive Director. The Executive Director will be responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership, and management to advance the mission and goals of the organization. This individual will work closely with the Board of Trustees, members, stakeholders, and partners to drive initiatives that promote oral health, support dental hygienists, and advocate for the profession. This position reports directly to the President. Must live in Washington State.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Board Government: Works with the President and the board to fulfill the organization’s mission and strategic plan. Reviews submitted reports, submits plans, creates agendas and board packets for Board meetings.
2. Strategic Leadership: Help implement strategic plans and offer guidance to the board to further the mission and objectives of WDHA.
3. Advocacy and Public Policy: Advocate for policies and legislation that promote oral health and advance the interests of dental hygienists in Washington State.
4. Membership Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with the committees and components that make up the association. Work on membership recruitment, retainment, and engagement.
5. Financial Management: Oversee the organization's budget, fundraising efforts, and financial sustainability.
6. Collaboration and Partnerships: Collaborate with allied dental organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
7. Communication and Outreach: Serve as a spokesperson for WDHA, effectively communicating its mission, initiatives, and achievements to the public, media, and relevant stakeholders.
8. Operations and Administration: Provide effective management of day-to-day operations, staff, and resources to ensure organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Responsible for signing all contracts entered into on behalf of the association.
9. Event Facilitation: Work with the board to facilitate our events including an Oral Health Symposium, House of Delegates, and Strategic Planning.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Previous experience in association management, nonprofit leadership, or a similar role.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication, advocacy, and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience in financial management, budgeting, and fundraising.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Quickbooks, and association management software.


This is a part-time position. Office hours are TBD based on applicant but preferred Tuesday-Friday 9-4PM. Weekend and evening availability for events.

Location: Washington, USA – Must live in Washington State. Daily work is remote, but periodic events throughout the year require an in-person presence at events taking place in Washington State.
