We are currently seeking applicants for a full-time Shop Supervisor to supervise the mechanics, inspectors, and final detailers at the Eggleston Automotive Center. The primary point of contact for retail customers, employees, and parts suppliers for retail maintenance. Coordinate Vehicle Reports, inspections, and the fleet maintenance division of the automotive center. Develops and coordinates preventative maintenance programs for corporate vehicles. Supervises all scheduled work performed by all mechanics, inspectors, and final detailers to maximize resources and ensure the cars look good for auction.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides quotes and serves as primary point of contact for retail service customers.
  • Oversees the monthly vehicle reporting program, and performs, assists, and coordinates the routine maintenance and upkeep of Eggleston's fleet of vehicles ensuring that all preventative maintenance such as tune-ups, oil changes, battery and tire maintenance are maintained at a satisfactory and safe level.
  • Diagnose and effectively repair mechanical, engine, and electrical problems on all size and type vehicles, including diesel powered. Diagnoses and repairs may include brake and hydraulic, suspension, air conditioning, and computer systems.
  • Schedules and monitors recall and ensure compliance with state and local requirements such as inspections, city stickers, registrations, etc.
  • Works as a Team with other staff to evaluate, coordinate, and repair vehicle donations to increase the value of the vehicle and the financial return to the Company.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and minor repair to facility-based equipment and the building and grounds, coordinating any major repairs with contractors as directed.
  • Supervises the work of other mechanics including inspecting and reviewing work for completeness and correctness and assigning work tasks to maintain efficient workflow. Keeps General Manager closely apprised of the work performance of the Service Department and final detail process.
  • Maintains automotive supplies and inventory and assists with managing the EAC vehicle lot and storage yard.
  • Tracks sales (service performed), parts, and inventory used in repair of company and/or other vehicles and provides daily reports to the Accounting Department.
  • Works to expand the business opportunities of the department.
  • Attends workshops as needed or assigned to improve personal knowledge and departmental functioning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Related experience required. Emphasize should include customer service, sales, and automotive systems. Proficient in using Microsoft Office to complete work tasks. Clearance through criminal background investigation, drug screening and acceptable OMV record required. Must complete required training. Free of tuberculosis in a communicable form. Must be able to lift SO pounds, bend through a full range of motion and stand for four or more hours. Able to operate a full-size tow truck Able to work in confined spaces, tolerate elevated temperatures.

 

Work Environment:

The work is sometimes performed outside during inclement weather. Must be able to tolerate a work environment that is prone to high and low temperature fluctuations, dust, dirt, lint, and industrial fluids
