Job Title: Delivery Assistant /Helper
Summary
The primary purpose of this job is to assist Delivery Drivers with the delivery and installation of residential and office furnishings within the agreed upon time frame and in accordance with the lease agreement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Check furniture to ensure acceptable condition for delivery prior to loading truck.
- Safely load truck in a manner to protect product from damage during transport.
- Accurately scan and check items against lease agreement.
- Deliver and install furniture in a safe manner, observing BDP guidelines for product protection and within agreed upon timeframe
- Pickup furniture at lease end.
- Report all pick-up and delivery issues to dispatch and record information on paperwork.
- Document start and end times at each stop for productivity purposes.
- Confirm all electronics and lighting work prior to leaving the stop.
- Wipe down and touch-up furniture once delivered to ensure its integrity.
- Provide world class customer service to everyone you come in contact with.
- Unload, sort and scan returned furniture to download/repair.
- Spot truck while the driver drives the truck in reverse.
- Navigate the truck to arrive at each customer location safely and efficiently.
- Fold blankets and store equipment and supplies in an effort to keep the truck organized.
- Perform checklist of truck to ensure all equipment and supplies are available.
- Support warehouse functions as needed.
- Delivery Helper productivity standard is approximately 30 pieces/hour.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to speak English, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
