What you will do

NM Group is looking to hire an engaged and enthusiastic Ground Survey Technician for a period of three months beginning  to support a  project in Ontario, Canada with the potential for some US based work. You will work in the field providing ground support to aerial survey mobilizations, setting up survey equipment and weather stations. You will work in the field for extended periods of 8-10 hours per day and seven days a week. This is an entry level role where you will be given the opportunity to learn new skills in land surveying and related tasks associated with aerial survey.

What skills and experience you should bring:


  • A high degree of flexibility, and drive, good team working skills and a willingness to learn.


  • Reliable and comfortable with lone working.


  • Computer literate.


  • Ability to travel domestic and internationally and work away for a long period at short notice.


  • Full Clean US driver's license (held for + 1 year).


  • No travel restrictions/criminal record.


  • Ability to obtain a passport or posses one currently  


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Setting up weather stations and GPS stations.


  • Navigating to and from sites and communicating according to the journey management plan.


  • Communicating with the Aerial Sensor Operator and other ground support team.


  • Joining the daily briefing.


  • Downloading survey data from instruments.


  • Daily reporting.
