Job DescriptionJob Description

The Greenville Avenue Child Development Center (GACDC) is seeking qualified and dedicated preschool teachers who are professionally prepared to teach young children in an early childhood environment. Interested individuals must possess excellent interpersonal skills and able to develop good relationships with co-workers, children and children's parents/family members.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, create activities, and follow established curriculum

Develop lesson plans

Engage children with developmentally age-appropriate activities

Maintain a safe and healthy environment

Follow daily and class schedules

Build/collaborate relationships with families as it relates to classroom and child’s needs

 

REQUIREMENTS

Possess great classroom management/organizational skills

Collaborate with other teachers and staff

Understand and follow written and oral instructions

Maintain a safe and healthy environment in all routines, activities and operation

Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Knowledge of the development stages of children

Ability to stand and move around for long periods of time while teaching

Knowledge of educational techniques and methods for teaching young children

Must be able to successfully pass required background check

Meet all applicable licensing regulations [State and Texas Rising Star (TRS)]

GACDC is a Texas Rising Star Program with a rating of 4. In addition, GACDC participates in the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) providing healthy meals to both children and staff.
