Job DescriptionJob Description

Our Hardware Development Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining printed circuit board assembly designs for our mobile electronic controls and OEM applications. This role requires working extensively with the Product Manager and engineering teams to produce high quality, cost effective products that exceed customer expectations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of mobile system controls hardware applications and design.
  • Design and maintain schematics, printed circuit board layouts and Bills of Materials for printed circuit board assemblies.
  • Work directly with mechanical engineering on packaging designs using 3D modeling CAD tools.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with using lab test equipment including DMM, Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, and RF spectrum analyzer to test and troubleshoot circuitry.
  • Perform in-house testing of circuit designs for endurance and thermal performance.
  • Assist in EMC compliance testing of circuit board assemblies at third party test facilities.
  • Coordinate and support circuit board assembly documentation and engineering changes with outside suppliers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Experience with schematic capture and printed circuit board design CAD tools. Experience with Altium Designer a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of electrical circuits and control systems, particularly for mobile (12/24V vehicle) applications.
  • Working knowledge of MS office.
  • Good oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and function in a fast paced work environment.
  • Self-directed and able to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Detail oriented with an appreciation for deadlines.
  • Enthusiastic attitude with good listening skills.
