G2 Secure Staff is expanding and looking to add a Safety Manager to the operations at Charlotte International Airport (CLT).

Title: Safety Manager

Job Type: Full-time

The Safety Manager provides guidance and direction for the planning, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for employees. The safety manager also serves as a local safety advocate, engaging local employees in the Safety Program to achieve continuous improvement and expense reduction.

What does a Safety Manager do?

  • Possess the tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees, and the public Implement a safety plan for the station
  • Ensure implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Implement a safety plan for the station
  • Maintain Quality Assurance oversight for operational issues relating to performance and safety, providing suitable corrective and/or preventative actions where necessary
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achieving company objectives.
  • Perform other duties as requested

What skills are required to Join the Team?

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience
  • Three (3) years of experience in safety & compliance
  • One (1) year of management experience in an airport/airline environment or a closely related industry and managing safety programs.
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce federal, state, local, and company regulations
  • Expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISAGO, SMS, and DOT standards
  • Strong leadership and proactive problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and prioritization abilities
  • Ability to analyze various types of data and produce reports for senior management
  • Proven success in developing, training, and implementing safety procedures and best practices
  • Demonstrated presentation, training, and facilitation skills
  • Strong diplomacy and relationship-building skills. Able to influence others positively.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and/or hold up to 50 lbs.
  • Limited travel may be required
  • Must have a reliable mode of communication and transportation
  • Must meet the necessary requirements to obtain a security-sensitive identification badge

Language Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals, and employee handbooks
  • Ability to effectively present information, including in written form, and respond to questions from passengers, managers, clients, customers, and the public
  • Must also possess and utilize effective listening skills

  • A degree in occupational safety/industrial, health education, or a degree in a related field
  • Airport experience
  • Management or supervisory experience
  • Safety and Compliance experience
