Lehigh Engineering, LLC, is seeking a motivated entry-level Mining Engineer to join our team at our office in Pottsville, PA. This position will provide mine planning support to both affiliated companies and external clients. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of surface mining operations, proficiency in AutoCAD or related mine planning software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conducting feasibility studies and site assessments for mining projects.

• Designing and planning surface mining operations, including pit layouts, haul roads, and infrastructure.

• Utilizing AutoCAD and Carlson Modeling software to create detailed mine plans and models.

• Monitoring and optimizing mining operations to ensure efficiency and safety.

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including geologists, environmental engineers, and mine operators.

• Providing technical support and guidance to field personnel.

Required Qualifications/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD or other mine planning software.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Knowledge of relevant mining regulations and environmental guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

• Experience with mine planning and scheduling software.

• Familiarity with GIS software and remote sensing techniques.

• Previous work experience in the Anthracite industry, or coal industry.
