The Estimator / Project Manager (EPM) reports directly to the Chief Estimator of the company. The position will assist with many facets of the estimating department, including project submittals, sample requests, material procurement, shop drawing development, and quoting primarily commercial projects for all the Rosa Mosaic products.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:·
- Interpret architectural drawings and specifications to accurately estimate material and labor quantities for project bidding.
- Issue timely and comprehensive quotations based on completed estimates.
- Generate detailed shop drawings outlining patterns, custom designs, and material locations for construction.
- Collaborate with architects to address project-related inquiries, ensuring thorough understanding and documentation before bid deadlines.
- Monitor and manage budgets during material procurement for contracted projects.
- Oversee the submittal process, including sample requests, product data, and LEED information, to align material costs with project budgets.
- Participate in initial project meetings to align with construction schedules and updates.
- Establish and maintain material order dates based on construction schedules, ensuring timely procurement to meet project start dates.
- Provide timely and accurate budget pricing and pre-bid samples to architects, designers, and construction managers.
- Offer value engineering assistance to general contractors and construction managers to address budget constraints.
- Cultivate strong relationships with customers and suppliers to foster collaboration and trust.
- Actively engage in industry training to remain updated on new products, installation methods, and industry innovations.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Preferred minimum of five years of experience in project administration, customer service, or operations within the building products industry.
- Preferred qualifications include undergraduate/trade/design school education or high school diploma and equivalent practical experience.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate complex technical information with clarity.
- Demonstrated ability to excel in performance with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and enterprise resource planning software.
- Experience in the construction industry and familiarity with finish elements is advantageous.
- Familiarity with CAD software is beneficial but not required.
- Proficient in delivering clear and concise verbal and written communications.
- Possesses a high-energy demeanor and thrives in deadline-driven environments.
