What You'll Do:
As an Immigration Attorney at SLI you will:
Connect with Positivity: Communicate with clients using a warm and friendly approach, establishing genuine connections.
Develop Firm Procedures with Creativity: Assist with streamlining removal workflows, policies and procedures to build the current removal practice and increase capacity.
Lead with Enthusiasm: Act as the Lead Removal Attorney, guiding and training support staff in ever-changing policies and procedures related to immigration court filings and processes.
Advocate with Zeal: Craft creative legal arguments to support both affirmative filings with USCIS and defensive filings with EOIR.
Research with Detail: Keep up-to-date with legal developments and caselaw, using research as a primary resource for client advocacy.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you will need:
· Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and admission in good standing to practice in any state in the U.S.
· At least 2 years of experience representing clients in immigration court. This may include relevant experience as a student attorney.
· Strong research and writing skills.
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in both English and Spanish.
· A welcoming and inclusive attitude that values diversity and respect.
· The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a friendly team.
