Foreman/Lead Carpenter

We are a company that loves to learn and innovate; we are looking for someone with that same desire. Our primary focus is high-end residential remodels and custom builds; we produce high-end, quality workmanship.  We are seeking an experienced Residential Construction Foreman with 10+ years of framing and carpentry experience. Carpenter must be comfortable in a leadership role and be able to communicate effectively with crew, office staff, and clients. As the Lead Carpenter, you will be “bags on” overseeing crew and sub-contractors. Along with "bags on" work you will be responsible for scheduling and overseeing trades, deliveries, and inspections. This is a field position, and you must have quality finish carpentry skills, and proven residential framing experience.The Foreman will be expected to positively motivate the helpers and subcontractors to complete their work in a quality and timely manner while maintaining a positive work environment.

Must-Have Skillset

  • Minimum of 10 years experience
    • 5+ years in a Foreman role within the Residential construction industry
    • 5+ years in construction and residential carpentry and framing
  • "Bags on" - Work physically on job while leading crew
  • Must have proficiency in:
    • finish carpentry
    • framing
    • exterior window and door installation
  • Basic understanding of blueprints
  • Split time between working physically and overseeing 1-2 helpers
  • Team Player: Positive attitude is key
  • Must be able to self-manage and follow through on tasks independently
  • Can-do attitude - able to self-teach new skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as being a team player
  • Accountable and dependable
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to collect and interpret data and apply it in a practical approach
  • Responsive to jobsite needs and/or concerns
  • Perform job site cleanup on a daily basis as it becomes necessary
  • Review and submit time sheets for all site crew members; ensure staff names, number of hours worked, cost coding and narrative of the work performed is accurate
  • Plan the job site tasks for the crew and optimize the team to achieve and maintain maximum productivity while ensuring labor and material costs are kept to a minimum
  • Ensure you regularly review the most up-to-date work plan and provide updates for short interval work schedules; demonstrate the ability to look four weeks into the future and plan ahead
  •  Coordinate, direct and monitor the activities of all assigned subcontractors
  • Mentor and train team members to uphold craftsmanship standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
    Requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve complex unforeseen remodel construction challenges
  • Comfortable with minor computer skills to pull permits when needed

Desired skill-set:

  • Siding installation
  • Flooring: LVP, hardwood, tile
  • Light plumbing: installing toilets, sinks, faucets
  • Light drywall skills
  • Light tile
