The Bookkeeper/Payroll Clerk will perform complex bookkeeping, accounting, payroll and administrative assignments. The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Staff Accountant, and the Human Resource Manager with accounting, payroll, customer service, and clerical duties. The incumbent must maintain confidentiality while demonstrating excellent attention for detail.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Assists with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions and reconciliations.

2. Responsible for calculating and entering accurate Workers Compensation accruals and completing Workers Compensation audits.

3. Audits, tracks, and books Corporate Credit Card expenses and prepares reports tracking monthly spending.

4. Develops and maintains a tracking report(s) for all company gift cards.

5. Assists with front desk coverage and administrative duties.

6. Develops and maintains accrual tool for customer rebates and marketing fees payable to customers.

7. Maintains Sales Register data and prepares a monthly customer shipping accrual report.

8. Assists in tracking and managing sales activities.

9. Maintains Sales Register data and prepares a monthly customer shipping accrual report.

10. Assists in tracking and managing sales activities.

11. Enters, maintains, and processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.

12. Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, garnishment, child support and other deductions.

13. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

14. Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.

15. Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

16. Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

17. Responsible for preparing, processing and submitting accurate bi-weekly payroll.

18. Responsible for preparing and processing accurate payroll accruals.

19. Prepares orders for Online sales through Amazon, maintains site protocols, and reconciles payments.

20. Assists with BRC Internal Audits.

21. Attends meetings as required. Occasional travel may be required.

22. Performs other duties assigned by the CFO or Human Resource Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree with

accounting coursework preferred or equivalent qualifications.


Minimum Experience: At least three years of bookkeeping and payroll experience or

related experience required.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently, plan, organize and prioritize responsibilities. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills. Ability to work cooperatively with others. Able to function as a motivated team member in a highly dynamic environment. Must be able to work in and communicate effectively in a team setting; efficient in problem solving. Excellent attention to detail. Proficient with payroll software. Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis. Ability to use accounting software. Ability to efficiently operate a 10-key calculator or equivalent and other related office equipment. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.

Other Qualifications: Efficient in the use of computer automated systems and software,

including word-processing, spreadsheets, accounting, and databases. Attention to detail

is vital.
