The duties of an assistant principal are as follows, but not limited to:
Leadership and Administration:
○ Collaborate with the principal in setting the school's vision, goals, and objectives.
○ Assist in the development and implementation of school policies, procedures, and programs.
○ Provide instructional leadership by supporting and evaluating teachers and staff.
○ Help create a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes student success and well-being.
○ Support the principal in managing school resources, including budgets, facilities, and technology.
Student Discipline and Behavior Management:
○ Work with teachers, parents, and students to maintain a safe and respectful school environment.
○ Address disciplinary issues and enforce school policies, following appropriate procedures.
○ Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behavior and prevent conflicts.
○ Collaborate with teachers to implement effective behavior management practices.
Curriculum and Instruction
○ Support the implementation of curriculum standards and instructional practices.
○ Collaborate with teachers to develop and enhance instructional programs.
○ Monitor and evaluate teaching methods and student achievement data.
○ Provide professional development opportunities for teachers to improve their instructional skills.
Student Support and Development
○ Assist in identifying and addressing individual student needs, including academic, social, and emotional support.
○ Collaborate with counselors, support staff, and community resources to provide student services.
○ Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide support for students with special needs.
Parent and Community Engagement
○ Foster positive relationships with parents, guardians, and the wider community.
○ Communicate regularly with parents, providing updates on school activities and student progress.
○ Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to enhance educational opportunities for students.
School Safety and Emergency Preparedness
○ Work with the principal to develop and implement safety procedures and emergency plans.
○ Conduct safety drills and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
○ Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies or crisis situations.
