Full service Real Estate and Property Management firm is seeking a Property Accountant to join their team
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- 3+ years as a property accountant or related experience
- Experience with payroll
- Experience with Security Deposit Reimbursement
- Experience with Bank Reconciliations and Journal Entries
- Experience with Real Estate Fund Accounting & Reporting, Real Estate Fund Audit Compliance
- Experience with Bank Reporting, Municipality Reporting, Internal Reporting to Principals
- Experience with Real Estate Tax & CAM Tenant Escalations, 1099’s
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review/test accounts receivable activities.
- Review accounts payable activities (i.e., review coding).
- Security Deposit Reimbursement
- Review cash activities (i.e., review outstanding checks, reconciling items).
- Prepare accrual entries and maintain backup schedules (i.e., accrued interest, prepaid expenses, insurance, real taxes).
- Analyze and reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly (i.e., open, and close bank accounts as needed, including posting of corresponding entries).
- Maintain monthly workpapers, prepare accrual entries and maintain backup schedules (i.e., accrued interest, prepaid expenses).
- Monitor investments, cash balances and cash adequacy.
- Maintain month-end GPR and management fees.
- Analyze various transactions and identify appropriate accounting treatment.
- Create and maintain the necessary reclassification of journal entries.
- Process cash receipts and prepare bank deposits.
- Ensure that the real estate taxes on each building are paid accordingly in the appropriate period and that enough funds are escrowed to make the necessary transfers.
- Assist management with special projects and other tasks as assigned.
- Experience with YARDI / Rent Café / P2P / Excel preferred
Salary commensurate with experience
