Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

MUST BE Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

Location: Farmington CT

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (minor holidays required)

Duration: 13 weeks

Pay $27/hr

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical assistant role.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program (CAAHEP or ABHES).
  • Current registration as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by AAMA or an equivalent certifying body.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Must reside within 75 miles of the Neag Cancer Center.
  • Mandatory compliance with Covid and flu vaccination requirements.

Preferred:

  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Previous experience in a high-volume ambulatory care clinic.
  •  

Responsibilities:

  • Perform administrative tasks including patient intake, scheduling appointments, and maintaining medical records in EPIC EMR system.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and patients for procedures, including administering injections and medications as directed.
  • Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and symptom management.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Support patients and families emotionally and educationally throughout their cancer journey.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinic areas and equipment.
  • Flexibility to provide coverage in other areas of the Cancer Center as needed, including the Infusion Room, Adult Ambulatory Care Unit, Radiation Oncology, New England Sickle Cell Institute, and Colon Cancer Prevention Program.
